2010 is an exciting year for the band programme at KBB Music. Firstly it sees the KBB School Concert Band Programme re-branded as the
KBB Music AllStar Band Programme with new books and a new logo.
KBB Music AllStar Band Programme offers Primary and Intermediate school children the opportunity to learn Brass, Woodwind and Percussion instruments then perform as a concert band.
Having children participate in a concert band is what sets AllStar Band Programme apart from other music programmes.
Our research and experience has shown that if children participate in group lessons and in a band, they are more likely to continue playing their instrument and get more enjoyment out of learning music.

Set Your School Apart from the others
Your school can have its own concert band without financial outlay or investment in expensive instruments and trained staff.
Until recently, learning an instrument in New Zealand Primary and Intermediate schools was a luxury available only to a select few. Now KBB Music gives schools a "point of difference" - a cost free way of starting your own school band with virtually no extra workload.
It costs the school nothing. In fact the school can earn KBB "Music Money" for every student who rents an instrument from KBB music. This is a credit which can be spent at KBB Music as the school wishes.
The benefits to both school and student are tangible. Playing an instrument has long been shown to assist students learning in general. It builds their confidence and self esteem at a pivotal age, develops performance abilities, listening skills, co-ordinatation, teamwork and social awareness.
Parents appreciate the opportunity for their child to learn music and to play a woodwind or brass instrument at school. A concert band sets the school apart!
How does it work?
- An AllStar Teacher will conduct an Instrument Demonstration Day at the school and provide an Information Evening with parents of interested students.
- An AllStar Teacher will arrange tuition fees directly with parents.
- KBB Music can assist you with renting or purchasing an instrument.
- The instruments will be delivered to your shcool with name tages attahced for each student on the first day of lessons.
What the school provides:
- Half an hour release time from class to students to attend music lessons. Timetables are rotated so children will not miss the same class each week.
- Additional rehearsal space and times for band practice.
