New Yany SIXS Ligature
Made in Japan
Dual-Use Ligature for Alto Saxophone and B♭Clarinet
We've harnessed our own structural technologies to develop and produce a ligature you can use on comparably sized alto saxophone and Bb clarinet mouthpieces.
It enables the sax and clarinet to bring out their unique tonal qualities and play to their fullest potential.
The Yany SIXS allows the horn to project well not only in chamber music settings but also in concert halls and open outdoor spaces, and also reduces the risk of being drowned out by other instruments during ensemble performances.
Roots of the "Yany SIXS" name and design
[Yany SIXS]"Yany" is from our popular nickname, while "SIXS" is a coined word derived from the six spaces established between the mouthpiece and reed.
[Design]The SIXS incorporates a unique design with six spatially arranged contact points and an integrated Yanagisawa "Y" motif. Four small, gold-plated brass discs stabilize the reed, holding it firmly against the mouthpiece while ensuring full freedom of vibration. The ligature hugs the mouthpiece barrel through four Ebonite spacers. An inverted single-screw mechanism allows uniform tightening through all contact points for excellent response. The engraved, hexagonal screw head adds an appealing classical touch.
Yany SIXS Mouthpiece Cap
An optional cap designed specifically for use with either the alto sax or Bb clarinet versions of the Yany SIXS. One side displays the same floral design engraved on the ligature screw while the other is printed with the Yanagisawa logo.
